ALFIE AND RESOURCE IN TOUCH WITH KNIFE CRIME

Introducing Alfie the Mane Man..the new furry face of the British Police Rugby League Association (BPRLA) sponsored by Resource Print Solutions!

Alfie took his bow at Wembley at the Challenge Cup Final in August 2008 and will be used by UK police forces to promote the anti-knife crime message within schools and at professional rugby league matches as well as assuming the mantle of mascot for the British Police Rugby League team during their bid to win the Police World Cup in Australia in November 2008.

The friendly lion character also got some words of advice from a menagerie of his fellow mascots during a photo shoot at Headingley prior to his trip down to London for rugby league's showpiece occasion.

Pete Oram of the BPRLA explained: "Alfie went down very well at Wembley and we are looking forward to seeing his impact in our activities within schools and prior to Super League and National League RL games.

"We are delighted that RPS have agreed to sponsor Alfie as it says a lot about their commitment to important community issues," added Pete.

RPS Managing Director Phil Thompson commented: "RPS is fully behind this anti knife crime initiative and actively seeks to support positive messages such as this."
